At Burbage Church of England Infant School the governing body comprises 13 people, including the Executive Headteacher (plus the Clerk) made up from Local Authority nominations, parents, employees of the school and the local community. As we are a Church of England School, three of our governors are Foundation Governors selected by St. Catherine's Church.
We are all people from the school community who wish to make a positive contribution to Burbage children's education.
As school governors we help to determine the strategic direction of our school, ensuring that pupils and staff are safe. We challenge and support the school, scrutinising the work of the school and reviewing policies, along with offering support and encouragement to the school and its management direction. As governors we also have very important statutory duties.
